Step 1: Caramel Sauce
Start by making the caramel sauce. In a small saucepan, heat the sugar over medium heat until it melts and turns golden brown. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn the sugar. Once the sugar is melted, pour it into a 9-inch round baking dish, making sure to coat the bottom evenly.Step 2: Mix the ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.Step 3: Pour the mixture into the baking dish
Pour the mixture into the baking dish on top of the caramel sauce.Step 4: Bake
Place the baking dish into a larger baking pan and fill it with hot water until it reaches halfway up the side of the dish. Bake for 1 hour or until the top is golden brown and set.Step 5: Chill
Remove from the oven and let the Leche Asada cool to room temperature before chilling it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.Step 6: Serve
