To make this gammon recipe slow cooker, you will need the following ingredients:- 1.5 kg gammon joint
- 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 cloves
- 1 litre of water
Instructions
Follow these instructions to cook gammon recipe slow cooker:1. Take a large slow cooker and add the chopped onion, garlic cloves, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, and cloves to the pot.
2. Mix together the wholegrain mustard, honey, and brown sugar and spread it over the gammon joint evenly.
3. Place the gammon joint into the slow cooker, on top of the onions and spices.
4. Pour the water into the slow cooker, ensuring that the gammon joint is fully submerged.
5. Cover the slow cooker with a lid and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the gammon is fully cooked and tender.
6. Once the gammon is fully cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and place it onto a tray.
7. Preheat your oven to 200°C and place the gammon into the oven for 10-15 minutes to glaze it. You can add more honey on top to give it a sweet and sticky glaze.
8. Remove the gammon from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
