For the meat sauce:- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
- 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 box lasagna noodles (16 oz)
- 1 container ricotta cheese (15 oz)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. 2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent. 3. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well and let it simmer for 20 minutes. 4. In a large pot, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package directions. Drain and set aside. 5. In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, eggs, parsley, salt, and pepper. 6. Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Add a layer of lasagna noodles on top of the meat sauce. Spread some of the ricotta cheese mixture on top of the noodles. Repeat these layers until you have used up all of the ingredients, making sure to end with a layer of meat sauce on top. 7. Sprinkle the remaining cup of mozzarella cheese on top of the meat sauce. 8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. 9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. 10. Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.Nutrition
