- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
Follow these instructions to make Aloo Dum:- Peel and chop the potatoes into small cubes.
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and green chilies. Saute until onions turn translucent.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a few seconds.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.
- Add all the spices - coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder. Saute for a minute.
- Add chopped potatoes and mix well. Add salt to taste.
- Add enough water to cover the potatoes and bring it to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer until the potatoes are tender and cooked through.
- Once the potatoes are cooked, turn off the heat and let the Aloo Dum rest for a few minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or bread.
