Instructions

1. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Rub the mixture all over the pork shoulder, making sure to get it into all the nooks and crannies. 2. If you're using the optional onion and garlic, place them in the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the pork shoulder on top of the onions and garlic. 3. In a measuring cup, mix together the chicken broth or water and apple cider vinegar. Pour the mixture over the pork shoulder. 4. Serve the shredded pork on buns or rolls with your favorite toppings, such as coleslaw, pickles, or barbecue sauce.
